Santosh Chauhan is a Senior Principal Scientist at CSIR–Centre For Cellular And Molecular Biology (CCMB). Before this, he was a Senior Scientist at the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar. He led a lab focused on the cell biology of diseases and innate immune responses in infection and cancer. He earned his PhD from AIIMS, New Delhi, and has held postdoctoral fellowships at the University of New Mexico and MD Anderson Cancer Center in the US. He is an elected fellow of all three national academies of sciences (INSA, NASI, IASc). His work contributed to uncovering druggable targets and mechanisms relevant to autoinflammatory, autoimmune, and viral diseases. Further, his work identified novel driver proteins in cancer progression and tumorigenesis, presenting potential targets for anti-cancer therapy. These discoveries offer significant opportunities for developing new therapies to address unmet medical needs.
