Jishnu is an Assistant Professor at the Center for Systems Immunology, University of Pittsburgh. He obtained his PhD from Cornell University followed by postdoctoral training at MIT and the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard. He currently leads a systems immunology lab of 25 people and uses interpretable machine learning and network approaches to uncover mechanisms of immunomodulation in a range of infectious and autoimmune diseases. As a computational systems immunologist, a key focus of his interdisciplinary research is on the development and use of these approaches to analyze high-dimensional multi-omic datasets to move beyond biomarkers to the inference of actual mechanisms of immune regulation and dsyregulation. He has published over 90 papers including studies led by him or his lab in Cell, Nature Biotechnology, Nature Methods, Nature Medicine, Nature Communications, Science Translational Medicine and Science Signaling. His research program is currently supported by 4 R01/R01-equivalent grants and 13 other federal grants.
