Colin Jamora, PhD is Senior Professor and Head of the Department of Life Sciences at the Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence. Prior to this, he served as a Professor and Coordinator of the Centre for Inflammation and Tissue Homeostasis, as well as the Head of Research Infrastructure at the Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem), Bangalore.
Dr. Jamora leads a research program focused on tissue regeneration and repair, using the skin as a model system. Among the discoveries from this research program, his laboratory has uncovered novel functions of immune cells beyond pathogen defense, highlighting their complex interactions with diverse cell types in the skin during wound healing. Though grounded in fundamental biology, his work is translational in scope—aimed at developing innovative therapies for inflammatory and skin disorders through active collaborations with clinicians and industry partners.
