Organized on 19th April 2024 at Lyfe Restaurant, Bengaluru, the themed dinner “Cognitive Gastronomy – From the Harappan Civilisation till Tomorrow” explored how climate, culture, and creativity shape what we eat. Ignite brought together food, science, and data to highlight how cooking, an art form, is also a data-rich process with deep implications for nutrition, health, and sustainability.
Led by Ignite’s Director Bhairavi M. Shibulal, the evening created a space for like-minded individuals working to strengthen India’s life science ecosystem. Chef Abhijit Saha, a culinary innovator and sustainable dining advocate, and Dr. Ganesh Bagler of IIT Delhi, a pioneer in computational gastronomy, guided guests through a culinary journey across time and geography, emphasizing how climate change is already reshaping our food systems and choices.
